Pre planning your outfits is kind of like packing for a trip but it’s even easier.
It keeps you from having to make any decisions during your hectic morning. You’ll always have a matching clean outfit for the day and you’ll reduce overall decision fatigue.
What You’ll Need
Something you will need to keep everything in order before your start is a 5 shelf hanging organizer such as this one here: 5 shelf hanging organizer. Also you will need to have all of your laundry that you need for the week completed before you start.
Depending on how many days a week you work, will determine the number of compartments you need. If you work Monday through Friday, 5 compartments is perfect. If you want to do all 7 that is great too. I have found that leaving a couple days open is best for flexibility.
This idea is so helpful when you’re in a rush in the morning and one of the best things is that you can mix up the days that you have laid out if you’re not feeling what’s in the next slot. Pre planning allows for you take advantage of precious time but you’re not locked into anything rigid. If you want to trade something out; do it!
Next Steps
Now that you have everything together you can start to get organized for the week!
Go about this as if you were packing for a trip and getting ready for work at the same time. It’s just like the morning but obviously you’re not actually putting anything on. You’ll need the basics: tops, bottoms, sweater or jacket depending on season, socks and underthings.
You could even go as far as the accessories if you have the inclination such as belts, scarves, jewelry and the like. The closet hangers with side pockets are really handy for this.
More Applications
Potentially you could put everything in there for every situation.
- If you workout you could pack up all the athletic wear you need
- Pajamas for the evening could also be included.
- If you have kids you could have them help pick things ahead of time. Doing this could reduce arguments and make them more independent in the mornings
- Actually getting ready for travel and other plans
