Winterized Wardrobes Ready for the Cold Weather

It’s that time of year again. Time to swap out the shorts and tank tops for sweaters and jackets

The more options you have visible to you, whether you’re wearing them or not, the more visual clutter and decision fatigue you will have. Setting some of your clothing aside until the appropriate season comes back around will help relieve your mind from all the extra decisions. Simplifying what you see will also save you time because you’ll already have an idea of what needs to go together for your outfits everyday.

What might worry you

Maybe, after a while it might feel as if you’re wearing the same thing over and over again.

But here’s the lie society tells you: Other people will notice I wear the same things all the time; and that is a bad thing

This lie is a myth I want to bust right now. People might notice, maybe. But here’s the secret, THEY DON’T CARE. Yup, that’s right! Other people do not care what you’re wearing. They have too many things going on in their own lives to be overly concerned about you. So, make life easier for yourself and make all the decisions for yourself ahead of time and remove all the extra from sight.

What if mentality

If there’s an item you put away that you find yourself constantly missing, by all means go and grab it back out. This idea is supposed to free you, not lock you into rigid plans with no flexibility. It just seems to be easier and more streamlined to have some key items you can mix and match together. While making sure you have enough options to make it until laundry day. Chances are, if there’s 2 feet of snow on the ground; it just doesn’t make sense to have all of your shorts and tank tops front and center.

Simplest ways to make these swaps:

  1. Put seasonal items in the bottom drawer of a dresser
  2. Move hanging clothes to the hard to reach sides of the closet
  3. Purchase totes for under the bed or a storage closet and move them entirely

Don’t forget about these items too:

  1. Shoes and sandals
  2. Dig out and launder jackets, gloves, hats and scarves before you need them (they probably smell like closet)
  3. Tuck away swim wear and cover ups

The best news

Not only will rotating your clothing save you time and effort, but when you pull them back out of storage you will have not seen them for a couple seasons and they will all feel like new again!

I do agree with all of the ideas you have presented in your post. They’re very convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are too short for starters. Could you please extend them a bit from next time? Thanks for the post.
