Sparking Lost Motivation

If you felt that February frump you’re far from alone. In rolls the new year, with all this hope and potential and have now discovered we’re in month 47 of 2020.. That fresh shine of new motivation has dulled or worn away and left us in that daily grind.

Motivation Begets Motivation

Yep, that is the tricky thing here. You need motivation to get motivated and it can be quite the viscous cycle.

The good news: you can make as much as you want, there isn’t a limit.

The bad news: it can be hard to find again if you lose it.

How do you find it?

A quick reset of intentions can go a long way. Take pencil to paper and even if it’s just a couple words just write out what you would like to do. Putting your thoughts out there makes it more likely that there will actually be real progress. Get it all out of your head. It makes it more real.

This might sound hoaky, but your mind is listening to what you say, just like Alexa when you start getting ads for something you mentioned one time while talking to your friend yesterday. Your mind set is the same way. If you keep telling yourself that something is too hard, or that you’re going to fail or that you’re not good enough; guess what? that’s the self fulfilling prophecy right there. Believe in yourself and what you can do because you’ve got this, you can do it and you will be successful. Just believe it whole heartedly!

Then what to do next? Just start. Literally, just starting will likely give you the momentum to keep it rolling. Stating is the hardest part. Once you get that out of the way you probably won’t want to stop. Don’t wait for the perfect time or the perfect circumstance because it will never be there. Just start in the mess and know that you will be able to wrangle it all together later and improve over time. No one and nothing is ever perfect but everything can improve over time.
